Opening a business account with Fairmay takes four steps. This article explains what each step involves so you can prepare in advance.
Before you begin, prepare the following:
- Your company's registered name and registration number
- The registered address and the country where you operate
- Details of every director, shareholder and person with significant control (full name, date of birth, residential address, nationality)
- List of company documents
- A valid ID document for each individual on the application (passport or national ID) and a device with a camera
Step 1: Sign in
Enter your work email on the sign-in page. We'll send you a one-time code. There's no password to remember. The code expires after 5 minutes, so request a new one if it doesn't arrive.
Step 2: Complete the application form
The form asks about your company, its activity and its ownership.
Company details. If your company is registered in the UK, we can pre-fill the details from Companies House. Check them and correct anything that's out of date.
Business activity. Choose your industry and describe what your company does.
Owners and managers. Add every director, shareholder and person with significant control. Add each person once, even if they hold several roles.
Documents. Upload the requested documents.
Your progress is saved automatically, so you can leave and come back to finish later.
Step 3: Review
After you submit, our team reviews your application. We may leave comments or ask for extra information, and you'll be notified by email. Review usually takes 1 - 3 working days.
Step 4: Identity verification
Once your application is approved, every individual listed needs to:
Open the link on a phone or a computer with a camera
Photograph their ID document
Take a short selfie or liveness check
Verification takes about 1-3 minute. The link is personal and expires after 90 days, so please don't share it. Your application moves forward once everyone has completed verification.
What happens next
When every check is complete, we give your application a final review and notify you by email. After that, your account is set up and you can start using Fairmay.
